Saloom Department Store is a family-owned department store that has been serving Mt. Pleasant, PA, and the surrounding areas since 1928. Beginning as a “mom-and-pop” department store, it has now expanded to carry fishing and hunting equipment, outdoor apparel and equipment, and much more. After the passing of Charlotte Mowry in early 2017, Leon and Christy Mowry officially became the third generation of family owners at Saloom’s. The Mowry’s now run the store with the help of their children, and the occasional visiting of their grandson, who may be the business’s future fifth generation partner. Saloom Department Store was built on true family values and extreme determination, which we continue to carry on 91 years later.
